Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous Technical Sales experience (external/internal sales)
  • Experience with bearing sales will be an advantage
  • Must have a Matric Certificate
  • Excellent computer & telephonic skills
  • Be computer literate in Sales Force (iSales) & Sage Evolution
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Be technically minded with attention to detail

Key Performance Areas:

  • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
  • Generate quotations in a timely manner and follow up accordingly.
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
  • Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns
  • Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
  • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sales items
  • Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
  • Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint
  • Fill requests for catalogues, information or samples
  • Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product development by attending training’s and trade shows and keeping abreast of new products that Germany produce and update us on
  • Set up and maintain customer files using Sales Force and Pastel
  • Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
  • Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the sales & marketing teams
  • Communicate to the order management and accounts department increases and decreases in demand for products
  • Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts
  • Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common office equipment and software
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Present a professional image at all times to customers, vendors and team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned
